It's probably a legit hiring spurt for college grads, but notice the reference to pick up in tech hiring -- sounds like BS to me --

How do you suppose most businesses plan their hiring -- what do they look at?

>> Experts say companies are hiring to handle new work but also making up for years of conservatism — and anticipating an exodus of retiring baby boomers.

"We've seen employers that have cut back the last few years looking around the office saying, 'We've got this new work. Who's going to do the job?'" said Lee Svete, Notre Dame's director of career services. <<

Where I used to work -- they consistently planned to not have enough people to do the work -- I think a lot of places functioned the same way after the Naz dived. Many were in fact looking for the 2nd shoe to drop -- now everyone breathes a sigh of relief that it isn't going to drop?? and then it does??

How's that for pessimistic? <g>

Also, where I used to work -- they had made a big deal about "executive" succession -- working very hard -- several getting ready to bail, I guess. I am glad that there is hiring going on. The more the better. Are the good times coming back?? perhaps -- I'm not sure what the driver will be -- I know it won't be pent up demand from consumers here in the US.
