Re: Ray - you have now turned into a fiscal conservative!

Contrarywise, I've always been a Jeffersonian fiscal conservative. I hated Reagan for injudiciously ballooning the federal debt when I knew that the only purpose it served was to enslave the people. Compare to this:

democracynow.org

I just cannot emphasize enough how important it is for the American puglic to begin to wake up to the fact that they are being ensnared in a debt bomb by some of the cruelest, most immoral and despicable people on this planet. I.e. our corporate elite.

Re: If it is never used, and convinces N. Korea that to attack us would be folly, it is a good use of the 1% that it takes.

You really seem demented on this. The U.S. currently has 20,000 offensive ICBM missiles on the pad or in easily retrievable storage. 20,000 multimegaton missiles would eliminate the human population from every major city on the planet, let alone Pyongyang, North Korea.

How can you possibly think for a second that some little dipshit and completely unreliable "defensive" missile battery is what will deter the North Koreans? Are you daft?

NMD: "Now, less than ever!"

Here's an interesting news item that makes NMD even more absurd than I'd painted it to be in my previous posts:

Message 20777733

Clearly, GWB and the crazies know that this technology can't possibly work. And they just as clearly know that the American people are hog-tied into a hysterical reaction to all the foreign bogeymen that we supposedly face. And that the profits of a silly boondoggle like NMD flow to the bribers of the GOP in an endless bilking of the gullible public. This sort of a scam has been labeled a "self-licking ice cream cone" by an expert on Pentagon follies:

d-n-i.net

Of course, old Henry Mencken didn't need to be a Pentagon analyst to see the world at work when he penned this famous line:

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace in a continual state of alarm (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing them with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
