Schools are run for different constituencies. Some public schools are run for the benefit fo the students. Others for the benefit of the teachers, and still others for the Administrators.

The public schools run for the kids are primarily in flyover country. They are not the problem that ones run fo different constituencies are. The unionized staff still whine about not being paid enough, etc. But they at least devote the energy to teach our children. My children are fortunate to attend such a school.

public school is better...

A public education teaches the children cultures they cannot get from book learning or TV. Home schooling reinforces stereotypes. The home school and private school (as well as segregated schools) lead to the type of polarization that is weakening the country.
