I've got news for you. Before the Shah was "installed with the help of the CIA", Iran's oil industry was nationalized. Under the Shah, I believe that Iran's oil industry, remained nationalized. Further, the Shah's "opponent", Mosaddeq, was not trying to democratize the country, he tried to gain dictatorial power by dissolving parliament (via a rigged election 99.9% in favor of Mossaddeq's resolution to dissolve the Parliament).
