I would add that the entire world is locked in a fight for their perceived survival from being eaten by the others, economically as well as territorially.

Tribal mentality still prevails and most likely always will until extraterrestrial intervention of some sort if at all.

Our national mindset should therefore be to protect our way of life, our standard of living, our military advantage.

We must do all that we can to see that our Tribe remains on top for our children, grandchildren and future generations.

In this context our aggressive posture in the world today is justified.

I do not see it as "back or white", and yes, the odds of someone smuggling in a "suitcase nuke" are pretty high, but that does not mean we should ignore the very real threat of attack by nuclear missiles.
Both areas of concern need much more funding immediately, even if (God forbid, do you here this Mr. Bush?) taxes have to be raised, especially on the very wealthy ones of our society.
