I think we are (or I am) considering here that the elites are dealing mostly with power and social status. How did the Left see Saddam? Did they see thru him and his unending plans to get WMD's, to elude the inspectors and steal $21 bil? I guess the elites were the rich european businessmen and politicians who saw how to make money off the oil for food program. Are they Lefties.? Bush may have been late to figure that out,and that we were paying for the no-fly zones while not participating in any Iraq oil contracts. No, I think GWB figured it out long ago, that we had done the work ( drove Saddam out of Iraq), were paying for his containment while only others profited. And we get no oil contracts work to show for it. So perhaps GWB is one of those elites too, but hes just not one of the Lefties. Did it take elites to see 911 coming?. All they had to do was read the threats being made by OBL and recognize that we had previously had one attack after another on barracks, on ships, on airplanes, even on the WTC. If a jackass could read, he could have told us that SOMETHING was going to happen soon. That dont even require a really smart donkey, much less an elite. If a person is discussing the elites ability to "see through" things then I would include Einstein, Jules Verne, Werner Von Braun, Pasteur,Newton, Madame Curie, and many more scientists. Elite: The group or part of a group regarded as the best, most powerful. So you see I am having trouble connecting elites with Leftists. Republicans have suddenly demonstrated they have a lot more power than expected in winning the election, so aren't they now the more 'elite' figures ? Sig
