Mike, of course I agree with what that poster said, I was that poster. g.

My point was that we shouldn't be running around trying to find reasons to call the action a correct one. It is no more correct when we do than it is when they do it. Is it human; yes, is it understandable; yes, is it justice and in accord with the Geneva Conventions; no.

And then there's always that big picture question of whether the mission itself justifies the inevitable deaths and losses that occur. That cost/benefit and statistical analysis of what we can REASONABLY expect to achieve seems to be submerged by all the pie-in-the-sky, maybe/miracle thinking that permeates this Administration and many of it's supporters. In my view that's a damned immature way to decide on foreign policy, especially when that policy involves sending boys to kill and bringing them home in boxes or with torn bodies. Ed
