ion,

Considering that 8 people were shot, 5 were killed and this was said Message 20792529 I'd say just about any response was appropriate. Furthermore, some people on SI knew the people that were killed. These were people who were on their private property, taking part in a legal and logical hunt and were killed for no good reason. Whether you like hunting or hate it - whether you're a vegetarian or a meat eating carnivore is not the issue. Human life is more precious than animal life and anyone who doesn't agree with that needs to spend some time under sedation at Happy Valley. If a deer and a baby were drowning in a pond which would you jump in to save?

This isn't about morality....its about humanity.

Well, okay: party of six gets killed, including a wife and child, yielding a kindly response of "Live by the gun, die by the gun . . . at least there are some animals now who are not going to be murdered by those five."

You ask if tonight's activity is an appropriate measure of calling a spade a spade? Given the opening dialogue, I'm not entirely certain that Grainne wouldn't go into the woods herself to bag some family in a duck blind to save a couple mallards. Just want to make sure we're all on the same page that it'd be the wrong thing to do. Well, maybe wrong unless it's an herbivore doing the shooting. But then, wait ---- that'd be sport killing, wouldn't it?

"Do you think tonight's action was in proportion to that statement? Do you think tonight's behavior in TOTAL, all of it, not just one person, whose position you might not agree with, but all of it, as appropriate, was adult, was responsible?"

I think the one person's cavalier response to the murder of six people would be expected to garner emotional responses

I think one other person response to it was WAY over the line

I think it was posted to anger, in invite angry response

and anger it got

some posting was adult, some was not

some was was responsible, I would even go as far as to say restrained

a very few were not, but were posted, others took notice and responded, for it offended them

it offended me
