Printed organic ICs pose market entry chance, says analyst

OYSTER BAY, New York — Organic integrated circuits, albeit not of the same performance or density of silicon or compound semiconductors, could be made in printing works costing US$30 million by 2008, according to ABI Research analyst Joshua Laurito.

However, that compares with a price tag today of about US$2 billion on commercial silicon semiconductor wafer fab set up for manufacture on 300-mm diameter wafers.

According to Laurito: "At the end of the decade, the electronics industry is going to look quite different. With the radically lower cost of printed IC fabs, it's a chance for a lot of companies that haven't been involved in semiconductors to make the jump."

Note what company out performed every time there was a bottom where LRCX came together with the MXIM, NVLS and AMAT lines.

LRCX has already turned up and still looks undervalued in comparison to your three.

Perhaps I'll roll some LRCX $ into your 3 when LRCX breaks above that blue line again.
