I didn't get the impression that you were a "doom and gloomer."

AMericans are great consumers and there are many citizens of this earth that have sufferred because of it.

I don't consider it the end of the earth. But, we run around claiming God has blessed us with all these "things" we have.

Maybe it's a curse from hell...........maybe we are being challenged to overcome our greed.

Maybe we all should be more Christlike and share our bread.

The "Blessings" thing is a pet peeve of mine. I once attended an evangelical Christian church where the Pastors talked about material wealth as if GOd had blessed him with it ( he threatened that GOd would take revenge on your children if you didn't pay tithes.

If the rich are blessed then what does that make the poor?.......................a lesser person in God's eyes?..............I just hate that train of thought which is shared by many Americans.

I lived near the Canadian border once and have some Canadian friends. They are good hearted, fun people..........alot like us.
