Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
I arrived in Ohio safely but one day late.
About 10 hours into a 8 hour trip, with 4 hours to go (10 more hours at the then current pace) I ditched the car. Never even made it to Ohio.
About 1 mi from ft waye exit off I 90 skidded right off the expressway. Was not going very fast only about 30 mph. I think they actually closed a portion of the expressway a bit later (we heard on the news on Thu). Several multi-car pileups. Small crack in front bumper (not going to fix it), no dents, and no one was hurt. Got lucky when it only took 1/2 hr for tow truck to get us out, even luckier when we got the second to last room at Super8 hotel. Roads were clear and dro on Thu and the seconl hafh extimated 4 hour drive took about 2.5 hours at about 85mph or so. Many cops all over the place too but I spotted them all. Had a nice Thanksgiving with friends and heading back on Saturday.

Well from someone who ditched a car perhaps I should not be talking but I am going pan the new Mustang. We were driving a Grand Am(wife's car) but the ability of one Mustang to even come close to being drivavble in those conditions was pathetic. In hotel parking lot (first one we stopped at was full got our room at the second one 1/2 mi away) a Mustang could not make it up the hill. A hill we had no difficulty with whatsoever. That Mustang was pathetic, just spinning wheels and sliding all over the place. Ended up sideways in the road blocking traffic in both directions smack in the middle of the road. Eventually he managed to back down in reverse and we got by as soon as we could, but if that is handling ability of those things in snow, they are not suited for the Northern US. The Grand Am was not great handling in the snow (I would call it fair) but it was worlds better than what we were watching the Mustang do.

Anyway.... now is time to Shop till you drop.
So support that US economy and go out and buy those Ford Mustang's and other crap you do not need. It's the patriotic thing to do (to bankrupt yourself to keep this economy together before it collapses in a pile of crap in about a year or so anyway).
