I'm semi-active on an alternative energy thread I started on iHub.

I've also got a few ideas for hybrid cars that I still haven't seen implemented that I'm really looking forward to trying. Time and money. <sigh>

Seems anytime I voice an idea, it ends up being someone else's reality later, but I'll take a chance here. I think all of the hybrids I'm seeing right now are seriously missing the boat. They're using electric mostly for low-speed stuff. That's all well and good since it's acceleration that eats the most fuel, but out here we spend most of our time at 70 mph. Even a 5-hp electric boost at that speed can dramatically improve our highway fuel economy.

And if the car has to push through the wind no matter what you do, why not use some of that wind it's creating to charge the batteries for the electric motor?
