Sidney,

Re: You don't sound like the ray that I used to know.

We live in new times. The campaigning Ray of the pre-November 2 era has been replaced with the more analytical and sober Ray in observer mode.

For instance, I've observed that one of SI's most notorious John Kerry cheerleaders, "American Spirit" went off the clock just as the polls were closing in the East on 11/2. What was that all about? My inquiries to AS regarding his term of employment have gone unanswered. Was AS a fraud? That seems to be a reasonable conclusion.

Regarding the vote fraud front, I tried for two weeks to really get some sort of traction on disputing the obviously un-intelligent decision by Americans to re-elect(?) George Bush. But, I've been forced to reach the sad conclusion that though there may have been vote fraud and voter suppression, that alone isn't enough to explain away George Bush's huge popular vote total. There really are 60 million indecent Americans who are either self-deluded, criminally insane or otherwise not worthy of the name "American" who turned out to really, really love the idea of creating a fascist Empire. How else can we explain the results?

It's time to reconsider what America really is. It seems to me that the world in general may not be in the "End Days", but that the American Republic as we've known it and admired it for the past 200 years is about to blow itself apart and become a malevolent police state at home and thuggish plunderer abroad. That's taking a bit of getting used to, old chap. No wonder I'm a bit "off my game" as they say, eh?
