I thought this artcile was fantastic in summing up where we are in Iraq, and why it will be so tough to go anywhere else:

Is it really that fantastic, Ionesco? A google search for "Sara Whalen" Arab News brings up several items... I read the first one, insinuating that Berg was some sort of a Mossad spy, while implicitly denying that Zarqawi was involved. Weired propaganda for weirdos.

But in any case, maybe it is good that our enemies underestimate and ridicule us... -g.

Below is an excerpt from a blog article (from the same search) ABOUT Sara Whalen:

Who is Sarah Whalen?

Well, she's an Islamist apologist and the author of several deranged and incoherent articles that have been published over the past several months at the ever-titillating Arab News and The Palestine Chronicle. Among her other accomplishments, she's managed to blame Daniel Pearl and Nicholas Berg for their own murders and either Israel or the Bush administration (often both) for all of the world's other evils.

Since Somalia, we have defeated Islamist insurgents soundly (in Afghanistan, Karbala, Najaf, and Fallujah) whenever our national leadership has had the will to fight them (which was not the case in re. to Somalia).

Despite Ms. Whalen's wishes, American troop morale seems very good. "17 soldiers of the US 343rd Quartermaster Company fuel platoon of the 13th Corps Support Command" aren't enough to base an argument to the contrary on.
