Hello, Poet. I hope you and yours had a nice holiday. I don't have any strong views on the Iraq elections. I think it would symbolically good for the election to take place as scheduled and hope that it does, but not if conditions were such that is validity could be questioned. I'll trust the administration to make the right recommendation when the time comes, to whatever extent that influences the decision by the Iraqis. In general I am encouraged by what seems to me to to be noticeable decline in terrorist incidents (kidnappings, bombings, and such) in recent weeks. I am personally optimistic that the eventual outcome of the war will be a good one for the region.
