I am actually in total agreement with your post, Ionesco. There is not a thing about it I would argue with.

The idea I am trying to put forward is not an anti-abortion stance, but more of a truth in labeling, philosophical statement. I do this because I think (just my very own personal opinion here) an enormous amount of time is wasted debating whether a fetus is just a zygote thing or a baby that only requires growth to be born.

There is a vey real and complicated debate to be had over abortion rights--I just think that we get stuck on the technicalities of what a fetus is and often never get much further.

So I am arguing that abortion is murder of a sort, but that sometimes it is the best solution for a fetus that would grow into a baby who is unwanted, neglected, abused, etc. (I also acknowledge that I have controversial opinions on the entire subject of what constitutes murder in general.) The anti-abortion forces argue that abortion is murder, but they don't seem to do much about changing conditions for babies that come into the world unwanted. I just think that is a more interesting debate to have, instead of getting stuck on whether abortion is murder.

I hope that clarified things a little. Emotions run really strong on this issue, I realize.
