Bottom line what is needed is a fatwa regarding wmds and all forms of terrorism whether in iraq or israel followed by a shift in US policy that satisfys some of the points made in the article posted by st. US needs to become that fair broker again without being forced to abandon its friends or core positions. Hamas talking truce for two days now is an optimistic sign. I sense a weariness setting in. I think some of the warfare seen on SI in recent days (mea culpa) is part of that. When things seem most hopeless perhaps we get a positive surprise. Folks all over the world deserve it. Mike
