Lots of people harbour illusions of grandeur, and most do not have the ability to carry them out.

In Gulf War I, there was no doubt, from the beginning, that Iraq / Husayn would lose. There is no reason to think otherwise, therefore Saddam was no threat to Saudi Arabia.
