It's really just a case of good business sense. Bob provided the heritage GF/Life users with effectively the same status they had previously, and they provide SI with a "critical mass" of users. Thats a wiw-win.

The APA is between Seller and Buyer, not users. The user relationship was and is governed by the TOU, as was the case with all previous owner entities. Section 6 of the TOU has the boilerplate "as is, as available, without warranty" language. That's the defining terms, insofar as users go. Everything beyond that is goodwill and good business sense.

In my opinion. :-)
