I didn't think Io would have asked you to ban a poster, and didn't say that. I did recall that you mentioned with some regret that a couple of people didn't seem to be posting. I think Io wasn't posting at the time, so wondered if you'd PM'd her to ask why and she'd simply explained that she was tired of Jewel's hostility. Since he'd been impolite and thus had given some grounds for being banned, I wondered (as did others) if you'd made a choice. Until last night, it seemed to me that he hadn't been more impolite than others whom I will refrain from mentioning by name. (When you catch up, you'll see that this ground has been plowed by Io and me already.) I was not one who objected to Io posting on feelies. I did mentioned here my surprise when I had the impulse to share a couple of holiday kids-book suggestions and discovered I was banned from, of all places, the Io-moderated book-suggestions thread, and I posted the recommendations here. But that was not a suggestion she not post here. Last night, Jewel, having noticed my puzzlement at his banning, 'splained it all to me, with links (I hadn't until then seen anything imo bannable) and an examples of one of his PM's. Jewel having himself having cleared things up, I have no particular reason to read the links you sent, but maybe I will later. I need to stay off today. I kind of love your demand not to have your integrity challenged. You know why? Because it really is so almost quaintly disjunct from the tenor of the New SI. I've been called murderer, scum bag, lying filth, imbecile, fat-assed liberal and ohsomany other witty appellations quite routinely on SI. So go for it, G.
