<<Actually I was sort of right. Mountain goats are a genus of caprinae which includes sheep, goats and their relatives, but not antelopes >>

I've seen several of those critters, high on mountain in the Cascades, perched on a bare and near vertical cliff.

I am extremely curious how they do that without falling off. Walking on an 8 inch ledge. What is up there to eat.?

Do they ever fall?. No place to turn around, how do they tell the ones behind to back up when its time to leave.

Wouldn't a blast of wind blow them off.

Do they have fur on their feet like chameleon, hair so fine ( 0.001 the size of normal hair) that the molecular attraction acts like glue?

We need a very close-in video of them along with sound to find those important things out and add to human knowledge. (G)

I think we both are probably right. What it amounts to is that taxonomy is just a human way of making sense out of a chaotic world. It doesn't necessarily mean the relationships are like a giant family tree. It just means taxonomists can't make up their minds.
