"The 80+ FACTUAL articles of the Bush fascist regime ARE facts!"

I saw a lot of opinion articles and interpretations (of events in the news) designed to support the argument, but you'll have to help me wade through all that bluster to find the "facts" that prove anything "fascist" about the Bush administration.

For example, an article says that Jerry Falwell claims some kind of control over the Republican Party. The claim is ridiculous on its face, but the article or Falwell's alleged claim certainly doesn't prove any "intertwining" of religion and government.

The notion that such "intertwining" is fascist demonstrates a lack of understanding of fascist regimes in history or the necessities of maintaining a fascist regime. Hitler may have used religious intolerance to his advantage, but he was actually rather hostile to religion. The reality is that fascist regimes, like Stalinist regimes, can not tolerate ANY alternative moral authority and religious institutions ARE such an alternative (one seen by many as superior to government in making moral judgements, BTW). They are, in short, a threat to the regime that must be either controlled or destroyed. The suggestion that religion controls the government (as opposed to the other way around) as the Falwell article is intended to prove does not support the "Bush is fascist" case.

In any case, you seem to think that it is my responsibility to prove that Bush is not a fascist. Well, as most intelligent people know, one can not prove a negative, but I'll tell you what - you pick out the one or two "facts" that you think provide the strongest support for your assertion and we'll see if they hold up to scrutiny.
