I am just reading about staph infections and wow, these sound very serious. My friend said the antibiotic they had her daughter on didn't work.
I think K. let the cyst go because she's in exams--she's in a very demanding master's/doctoral program. And finally she was in so much pain and her lymph nodes were swelling so she HAD to go.

You know, I just remembered a Dallas friend who was hospitalized for staph this summer and before they treated her, the doctor said, there is a new drug that is successful but you may want to check with your insurance. She said to go ahead, figuring even if her ins. objected, they could afford it. The drug was over 1000 dollars.
We are in big trouble from our overprescription of antibiotics. I remember when I was little, our family dr prescribed penicillin for everything. I am allergic to it now.
