"If we are buying more trouble not to stay in, it is worth it to stay in"

Depends on whether we have to stay for 3 months, one year or ten years. You may be right. January may be too early but what about January 2006? We always talk about tipping points. My worry is that bush agenda will go by the wayside as we keep putting off what may become the inevitable. As far "regional instability (not merely civil war)", we got a shitload of that now. I cant be sure that our continued presence in iraq will not increase, not decrease "regional instability". You need to factor time into your equation to remain credible. Rummy now says four years and then we start withdrawl. If its four more years of this, no way Jose, regardless of all the great dylan lyrics you post. Bush presidency will be an abject failure on all fronts and the dems will nominate and elect howard dean, if not Michael Moore. We need to prioritize among bad outcomes if thats where this is headed. mike
