Sun, interesting that you'd say that. The Judeo-Christian scriptures record that man lived for a very long time (900+ years) before the flood and the people became very depraved and sinful. Regarding "Imagine what you would do if you knew for a certainty that there was no god, no after life, and no rules; you were free to do any and all that you wanted", I don't want to disagree with what you personally would do but what do you think the average person would do? Have you ever seen a city like LA after a sports team wins and anarchy breaks out on the streets when the mob has relative confidence that law enforcement has collapsed? Your perception of human nature (as a general rule, there are exceptions) and my observation of the same are at odds.
