So very true...

our legal system is as much a function of money as justice.

Jeff, I can't speak to the others, but I have had several conversations with Hansen and know that he had a new baby, a business to run, and had just bought a new home when he was charged due to his cooperating with a request to erase logs. He had too much at stake to risk a long prison sentence and agreed to plead guilty and cooperate.

Since that time, he has lost his home, lost his business, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on attorneys, in order to deal with this matter. This is all because he erased logs when requested. I absolutely do not believe he would ever do anything illegal if that were clear to him at the time that it was illegal, but when charged, he had to choose what level of risk he was willing to endure: risk a long sentence or cooperate.

My recollection of Bob was that he was mostly busy with his business and taking care of hosting the site. He was often not even present in the chat room. Since he was in Florida and Tony was in San Diego, he didn't have contact except via the site or phone.

I wish Bob only the best and know he chose the path he did so he could be with his family.

I agree with you our legal system is about money,....but your assumption that 3 people pleaded guilty for their crimes, because their armed was twisted by the government, is absurd.

If they were innocent, I am sure a free public defender can get them out of the charges.
