It seems reasonable to me to standardize the color, more or less. Like, say, that the uniforms have to be some shade of brown. Making deputies wear uniforms that are uncomfortable, impractical, and even dangerous in the name of centralized control is pretty anal, methinks. But then I just love clothes that fit comfortably and have utilitarian pockets. Police officers have to carry a lot of stuff and to move freely.

I have a problem with laws not being enforced. That just encourages scofflaw attitudes, in general. Either enforce the uniform law or get rid of it, I say.
