Jay, I really can't see the attraction of the LINK REIT. A HongKong investor like you almost certainly can make a quick profit if you can get an allotment now before it starts trading. I hope you get it. But after it is trading where is the appeal?
6% return after withholding is available in REITS of a sturdier currency, i.e the Canadian dollar. As I understand it the HK dollar is tied firmly to the US dollar, so one is essentially buying US dollar assets. I don't see a long term hold there, especially as they are giving away all the profits, hence where is the growth.
Puzzled.
