I thought his answers to the troops were completely empty and proved very clearly just what a charlatan he is and by extension the administration.

While I don't support the war in Iraq, I do support troops having the right gear while they are there.

As usual, you take a discrepancy which might be accounted for in more than one way and leap to the conclusion that someone was lying. Maybe Rumsfeld made a mistake, confusing this issue with another. Maybe he does not know that the company claims it can produce more, because no one passed it the claim that far up the chain. Maybe the greater capacity only recently came "on line". Who knows?
