Court: Mom's Eavesdropping Violated Law

Let me get this right.

I pay the mortgage on my house, that puts a roof over my teenage daughter's head.

I bought the phones that are in the house.

I pay Qwest a monthly charge for phone service.

And yet, I don't have the right to listen to my minor daughter's phone conversations if I so desire?

The Courts have ruled that kids have no expectation of privacy in the contents of their lockers, and yet I, as a parent, cannot monitor what goes on under my own roof?

There is something off kilter here.

Was the author of that opinion Justice Sanders, by any chance?
