bravo altie ....

that's a wonderful christmas story.
i can hear the singing now - so that's
where you get it from, eh? you're
blessed with a musical family - a large
musical family. what could be better?

that reminds me, we're still waiting
for a recording of your choir - you
promised, remember?? are you performing
again this year?

the tree is looking really, really good
this year - the more stories it holds, the
brighter it becomes. the light is shining
thru the windows and illuminating the patio
out front with a warm welcoming glow for all
who pass by. i think more folks will be
dropping in to have some christmas cheer.

thanks for putting the tree up this year
altie. its the best one so far. and the
decorations - what can i say? très magnifique!

i'm thinking that polvie might even be moved
to put together a little music compliation
for us this year - he might even have it ready
for the party tomorrow.

That is a wonderful Christmas story.

I truly enjoyed it and could smell the balsam and pine.

You just reminded me of when my brothers and I received
one of those hockey games.

These stories are really putting me into the Christmas spirit.

P.S. I think it is Polvo's turn for a story.
Scoot, JPG, S2, etc, too.

P.P.S. After writing my story the other day I went to a
hobby store and bought a real Lionel train set for the boys
and they set it up around the tree. They love it!

Upon hearing this, my father searched through the attic and
FOUND our old set and gave it to us. The old locomotive
still works! Still shoots tiny sparks and everything as it
motors around the track.

Wunderful story, Altair! Wow! Loved it!
In parts, it sounded like some of my Chirstmases Past too...
(i will write a bit more about a couple of those experiences
when i have a little more time).
Mention of the hockey game made me laugh.
We had one of those too.
I was just looking at the photos of the old hockey games
and ours was somewhere between the really old one
and the slightly more advanced version.
The players just swivelled and the goalies could swing
from side to side, but no slots,
but the outside box of the game was painted with league logos.
Needless to say, in my family there was always a bit of
a struggle to decide who would get to be the coveted Maple Leafs!
The funny thing about the game with the players that
could only swivel was that, in the heat of a game,
just about everyone would start playing it a bit like
a pinball game -- giving it a shake and jiggle to get
the marble to go to their player.
Lots of laughter guaranteed!

As they say in that old song,
"Thanks for the memories!"
