<<<"All men are created equal" is NOT a religious principle; nor does egalitarian justice relate in any way to religious principles.>>>

What a laugh! I quoted a dictionary definition that pointed to the self evident truth that all men are created by God and endowed with inalienable rights in the declaration as the basis/reason for the moral egalitarian position.

"The United States Declaration of Independence included a kind of moral and legal egalitarianism.

Because "all men are created equal"

the state is under an obligation to treat each person equally under the law......over time this kind of egalitarianism has won wide adherence and is a core component of liberal, democratic polities. "

Moral egalitarianism is founded on the assumption that humans have value and that value stems from their status as creatures of God who are specially made in the image of God. If you undercut that, the whole house comes down. You are trying to build on a foundation you deny exists, and have yet to justify according to your own system.
