BTW there are Muslims who post and/or read this thread. They are intelligent, well mannered, informed people. I would suggest you chill with the blanket criticisms of Muslims. They are unfair and probably hurtful.

Tejek,

there are Americans who post and/or read on this thread. They are intelligent, well-mannered, informed people. Many of them read alot and hear quite a bit about how Muslims in the Middle East, and even here in the U.S., denigrate Americans and rally around the cry "Death to America". I would suggest that any Muslims on this thread and in the Middle East, who constantly berate Americans and cheer when Americans die, to chill with the blanket criticisms of Americans and with the barbaric sawing off of heads. This is very unfair behavior and most undoubtedly hurtful to whatever misguided causes you think you are fighting for.

Listen, mindmelt, I don't particularly care for racists. So you're going on ignore. If you're an example of what Americans have become, then we are in decline.

RE: "I would suggest that any Muslims on this thread..who constantly berate Americans and cheer when Americans die"

Mindmeld, there hasn't been one single Muslim on this thread that has cheered when Americans die. You wrongly presume otherwise. That's called bias. You're way too intelligent to be biased.

Think about how you write for a minute and how it comes across. You write as if you believe all Muslims want American's to die. And you think by writing that untruth, that somehow you will gain support. You never stay focused on how you want people of all races not to enable problems by assuming it's not their issue. Enablers (those that ignore problems) is a problem common to all of humankind. Focus on that. But you don't. You write as if it's "only Muslims" that enable by assuming "it's not my problem." Well, so did the Germans a few decades back when Hitler killed Jews - weren't the Germans Christians too? What about Americans - you imply they aren't enablers? Each and every American that looks away when there is child abuse happening at their neighbors house. How many Americans have the guts to take action, rather than enable America's problems by looking the other way and saying, "it's not my problem."

It's about time you realize that the "enabling" problem is one shared by all of humankind. Enablers are those that say "it's not my problem." You act as if Muslims are the only enablers in the world. Well, look around you at work and in your neighborhood. You'll see enablers of all sorts, these are the humans that say "it's not my problem." Way too many humans are enablers. That is the problem. But it is not specific to Muslims. You write as if it is, so you (unfortunately) sound extremely biased when you do.

Also, you never write about the Muslims that gave blood after 9/11. You have blinders on your eyes and you only choose to see one thing. That's not a balanced view - it doesn't reflect reality.

Regards,
Amy J

Mindmeld, "It is something to wonder: How many people knew" (but did nothing)

Possibly a dozen, possibly two, even three. The short answer to the question of how many knew is, enough.

Relatives knew, including a squadron of scattered cousins, an insurance man in Connecticut, the doctor in Oklahoma, a police officer in New Mexico, a nun in Massachusetts. Neighbors and friends knew. Police officers and caseworkers knew. As Lillian would later say, "All of my friends knew what was going on. I told them."

Mindmeld, I thought you said only Muslims ignore and enable problems?
