Soldiers complain in every war. The complaints are getting more attention now but there is nothing fundamentally new. Refusal to follow dangerous orders is also nothing new although in the past it could lead to being shot or at least some severe punishment after court martial. What does appear to be different is the lawsuits. I think that reflects more a change in our society and legal system than a change in our military or something specific about this war. People are more likely to sue now than they used to be.
