res-How will Gates counterattack?

Ahhh, this is where things will get really interesting. Microsoft has already begun the counterattack by firing their yahoo search portal service. They have now vowed to build a better search engine than Google and compete directly with them.

With 55 billion dollars socked away and searching for reasons to spend it, I wouldn't count Microsoft out. But the trend toward google is unmistakable. They have been firing on target with a laser machine gun for quite some time. One big blunder and they could go down the path of Netscape though. In a strange way, that's one of the main reasons they need to get bigger and even bolder but biting into the Linux pie.

Should be interesting to watch....

My bill paying habits mirror yours. The only ones I can't pay over the web are my college loans. Wouldn't you know, those wizards running schools haven't figured that out yet. :)
