Wow... Two kids hit a deer last year on the road that runs by my place and came to my door to get help for the deer. Some idiot had stopped and offered to hit the deer in the head with a hammer. I shot the deer with my old bush rifle. The park warden who is my neighbor informed me later I might be fined $5000 for shooting the deer, that never happened because he knows I would burn down his house in the wee hours.
