It seems to me that people on your *side* often confuse crticizing policy with actually hoping something bad happens to the country, or the soldiers OF our country.

If you want, you could see it happened here yesterday- when two posters "read" into my posts something that was not there. Makes your "conclusions" pretty suspect. I've seen one poster who criticized the military in the way you suggest- ONE. Many others were accused- but the accusations were a fantasy of the poster attacking them, and not based on anything in the post they were responding to.

Where you cannot produce proof, often you are wrong (the exception being trying to prove a negative- which takes enormous amounts of proof- but you would be proving a positive assertion you made, in this case- easy stuff, if what you asserted were really true).

I have a couple of problems with your post. This is the specific charge that you made:

"What I am seeing now is the embolding of the liberal left to take the gloves off and say what they really feel, which is that the "men and women in uniform" are just thugs and killers unworthy of support. We see it here on SI in the not-so-subtle posts that cheer for the enemy and gloat over new additions to the death rolls of our troops.

I think it is a sickening trend."

Now I don't know what goes on at other threads, because I am a wife and mother with a full-time job and five pets, and I am so stretched for time that I hardly have time to read Feelies. HOWEVER, if you are going to make a charge like this at Feelies, you will have to prove it or retract it completely, because the nature of the charge is just disgusting, and I believe, untrue. I am not interested in anyone else's responses or an interesting discussion developing. You must provide proof or take back your allegations, or I will be forced to ban you.

I don't care how many posts you have to go through--there is a search feature that will make it relatively easy for you. If you don't know how to use it, I can help you. And next time, don't make a charge that you cannot prove here, because it is so essentially unfair. And if a specific poster offends you with something they say in a post, then take it up with that poster, because you have just unfairly smeared an entire group of well-intentioned people, and that is a violation of the Feelies rule of generally civilized behavior.

I have never seen anyone from the liberal left gloat over any war deaths at all. I am sure the right-wing doesn't understand this, but the anti-war movement is full of people who are totally sickened by death, are horrified that disadvantaged Americans are most likely to become cannon fodder, and are sickened by young men coming home missing limbs or part of their brain. At the same time, the left is repulsed by wanton killing by American soldiers, or lack of respect for ALL life, not just American life, and the horrible way that war veterans are cared for once they return home from battle, and I believe those objections are perfectly valid, as are posts pointing them out.
