Why other than aggression would you intentionally confront someone with an language that you know would not sit well? Isn't intentional rudeness aggressive?

1 - The set of people who are not Christians is not equivalent to the set of people who don't celebrate Christmas. The set of people who would be offended by "Merry Christmas" is smaller than either of those sets, probably much smaller.

2 - Even when you are dealing with someone who doesn't like or is offended by Christmas or expression related to Christmas, saying "Merry Christmas" would not be asserting dominance, it would just be rude. It might become bullying if you follow someone around screaming it, or you spray paint it on their house but those things would be bullying even without the Christmas reference.

3 - Rudeness can be aggressive, aggressiveness can be bullying but this isn't All A is B and all B is C (therefore all A is C). Its more like some A is B and some B is C.
