Spending $1 to $2 Trillion to save $3.7 Trillion, over 75 years, is a really pathetic return.
If we invested $1 Trillion today at 2% interest it would be worth $4.4 Trillion at the end of 75 years.

It just goes to show the sorry state of the current administration. A return of only 1.76% annually sounds like a good deal to them.

$1 Trillion * 1.0175 ^ 75 = $3.7 Trillion. This sort of nonsense would never pass muster in a reality-based nation like Australia.
