Take a close look at the "adjusted" chart and you will see that whoever extended the inflation-adjusted Dow line misread the x-axis on this chart just as you did. The Dow line on the updated chart has been plotted through mid-2007. That's quite a trick as 2004 is not yet over. The human brain is an odd machine. Objective it is not. Change it does not like.
