I totally agree.

Everyone I know hits the tax cap around the summer time. It really wouldn't be noticeable if they removed the tax cap.

But only in exchange for making the SS cap $4k, rather than $1k. That would be a fair exchange.

But removing the SS tax cap, while imposing a $1k savings cap, would be draconian.

My vote (and I bet most people on this thread would agree, and probably most here hit the SS cap), would be to remove the SS tax cap, while allowing $4k/year to be saved rather than only $1k/year.
