My comment is specific to the fact that China has kicked Japan's butt on many consumer products due to the following formula: Simple and low-cost.

Now extrapolate this and investigate some current trends in ROW consumer land.

Lizzie, what about china makes you think they are unbeatable as a force in business?

Favored free trade treaty with China and retirees of boomers beginning in 2008 where more imigrants will be required to fill engineer positions. This is according to Friday's Kippinger newsletter. There will be 600,000 graduating engineers from India and China annually to fill thes position from what I have read. Kipplinger stated that the US is concern about the number of immigrants comming in by Visa's for security reasons and loss of vital technology, but, yet they passed the Favored trade agreement for China. Does make sense to me. But perhaps I am just not thinking straight. Economics always wins out, IMO.
