But, I dont considering major Christian theologies as SECTS. At the time of the founding of our nation many wars and much deaths occurred over the differernces between PROTESTANT and CATHOLIC religions. I take your point at a general level. There are lots of differences within the general framework of Christianity. Are you suggesting that Protestantism and Christianity be classified as two different religions? Or are there more than two different religions within the umbrella of Christianity? If so, which are they? I think that was what our forefathers were envisioning when they wanted Church and State separation. So, are you saying that the founders didn't want to show preference for one Christian religion vs. another but did intend to prefer Christianity over other religions or no religion?
