I have a 401K and two different IRAs.
The money within them is diversified, About 1/3 is in money market.

I also have taxable investments, mostly in stocks.

Those are two legs of the three-legged stool of retirement. The third should be the minimum guarentee of social security in case all these other investments crap out. That is the leg that Junior is eliminating. The return does not go up appreciably, but the risk is much higher.
