how can I differ with that?? All good points -- have you ever taken out a mortgage??

I do know some folks who are so averse to debt that they haven't -- I'm not in that category.

It seems to me that there are many more Christians who would ask for your shirt but not be willing to give there own. And how could that work in todays times. In a communal Christian community? I have seen plenty of Christians who were really just users. Probably because they were users before they were saved and never were renewed by the experience. Did Jesus mean to give your shirt to non-Christians, not Christians? That would make more sense to me.

when our Lord speaks of fleeing to the mountains, we must be careful not to always take things so literally. oftentimes mountains represent kingdoms or nations in the bible. and not necessarily literal or carnal kingdoms, but spiritual ones as well. mountains can also represent individuals, good or bad.

"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever." (Psalms 125:2)
"Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast." (Psalms 36:6)

fleeing to a literal mountain during the tribulation will not save you:

"Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it." (Luke 17:33)

fleeing to the mountain of the Lord, will.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it." (Isaiah 2:2)
