Anthony appears to be saying that the site members knew he was working with the FBI and the SEC, the site members appear to be confirming that. If they believed that Anthony was doing so as a confidant of the authorities it certainly muddies the water even further for the jury, that is my opinion. Gaeta's testimony goes way back, to incidents in 1996, as one other poster notes, recidivism is rare in the securities industry. Gaeta's testimony also includes the fact that another FBI agent told him Elgindy was a liar, it doesn't indicate if Gaeta also reached that conclusion independently. What is clear from the article is that Anthony approached the FBI about a stock scam in 1996. If everyone thought Anthony was a chronic liar, there would be no defense witnesses. The FBI is dirty on this one, note they are charging their own here. It isn't a pleasant trial for many I am sure. I am not sure if the Robin Hood defense is the right defense, Robin Hood stood on the right side of the law. Anthony's involvement in the nether side of the industry means that he has probably stood on the wrong side of the law at one time or another, Robin Hood never did that. I am not sure where Peters stands in regards to your statement, it appears that the wool is pretty deep or that Peters and Elgindy conspired together and Peters was aware of everything Elgindy knew, the testimony I've seen doesn't support this view but I am sure there is more to come.I hope the trial will clear up all these questions. Anthony appears to live a life of extremes, I am referring to Mary Faith when I make this statement. The journey to the altar must have been very exciting with a lot of veering and many exciting 'almost crashes' along the way. The readers will probably get to talk to Anthony on SI again one day, I am just guessing. This thread and the calls made here in the early days will always make some fine SI "required reading". Best of wishes to you this Holiday season Dale. May your best gifts truly surprise you !
