Debate on the FOOL on watt leakage

point #1:
I'm very curious to see the large screen TVs that run on three watts. Does that include the power for the speakers? Anyone ever listen to a 3 watt speaker?

A very good rebuttal:
Yep. If you live in a condo, you might already get complaints from your neighbours.
Power scales up exponentially with decibels.
Going from 3 to 100 watts only gives you an additional 15 decibels.
Nevertheless, I you can't run a TV on 3 Watts. It's impossible.
You need twenty times as much for a large TV.
The article is misleading. The 3 Watts refers to the power used in standby.
It is about damned time that someone came up with legislation like this.
There is no reason whatsoever for equipment to suck more juice when turned off. Often appliances consume electricity even if you switch them off completely unless you disconnect them.
The standby power use of electronic gadgets in standby is estimated to be between 5-10 percent of total electricity consumption in the EU.
