I was surprised he reluctantly admitted to things not going well - took him (and Bush) a long time to arrive at that realisation.

I am still wondering what success in iraq would look like. I wish Bush would articulate that.

Does a democratic govt in iraq with shiates in power, who are in bed with irani clerics be a win for us ? If there are elections, that is the only viable and sustainable outcome I see. How would that be any better than saddam in power for our security ?

From our standpoint, it seems like we need Allawi in power or kurds and Sunnis sharing power with Shiates majority. I dont see any chance of either of this happening and sustainable.
