If things had gradually tapered off I'd allow that you could be right, but we had warmings about the 4th of July, Labor Day and a lot regarding the election. And then: Shazzam - no more more warnings.

Politicians are disingenuous.

An irresistible ingredient for getting elected just might be to tell the voters they are right to be afraid and only we, Team Bush, can protect you.

Then, of course, they can stop crying wolf, take credit for solving the exaggerated problem, and go down in history as successfully fooling most of the people most of the time. But then again those people wouldn’t know.

Maybe sinister. Not what I define as a conspiracy theory. Just obvious creative politicking, albeit despicable. I don’t think this distinguishes this administration from any other in recent memory. They are all fairly transparent, self-interested and stupid.
