Baloney. If the press is piling on, they're piling on not to that "planted question" but rather the votes of no confidence from Republicans. The story goes nowhere without the the Republicans having gone tone deaf on the rock star.


You have the right end of the stick, but I don't think you're swinging it in the right direction. The press, having heard of discontent with Rummy on the Hill, is determined to manufacture a Rummy scandal where none exists, to see if they can turn the discontent into a severe blow to the new Bush second term. I don't think it's fair to imply that there is a true Repulican-lead 'fire Rummy' movement on the Hill or in the Republican party.
